Bahrain, Britain in discussion to boost bilateral trade

(MENAFN) Bahrain is going through a remarkable phase of economic growth, with gross domestic product (GDP) growth reaching 5.3 percent, a five-year high in 2013 and the unemployment rate at less than 5 percent, Gulf Daily News reported.

The Kingdom registered a significant increase in the number of industries and business start-ups, both in the commercial as well as the manufacturing space, as well as having a proposed new mega project, the new Economic City, which is expected to create a wide spectrum of business opportunities.

Meanwhile, Bahrain has been having discussion with The United Kingdom in order to expand the economic and trade relationship between the two countries, and to explore all possibilities to make the business environment as conducive as possible to British companies in Bahrain.

'There are many commercial and manufacturing opportunities in Bahrain, and of course the wider $2trn Mena region, which we believe British companies, could be well set to take advantage of, from a base in Bahrain," the Industry and Commerce Minister said.
