(MENAFN- QNA) Japan sides with the United States and other countries in the fight against Islamic State militants (ISIS), Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said Tuesday after holding talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry.
Referring to US-led airstrikes on IS targets in Syrian territory, Kishida told reporters in New York that Japan "understands the US move is intended to prevent the situation from getting even worse."
"We support the international community's fight against ISIL," (Kyodo) quoted Kishida as saying.
