Kuwait army seeks expertise in logistics challenges obstacles


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY Sept 23 (KUNA): The Kuwaiti army seeks to constantly update its logistics capabililties along with its partners and suppliers said Major General Lafi Al Aazmi Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics & Supply Authority in the Kuwait Armed Forces at the 2nd annual Military Logistics summit or conference taking place here on Sept 23 and 24 2014. 'I am looking forward to getting real results from the event particularly solutions and shared experiences regarding logistics challenges and obstacles. I hope the success of this gathering will form the core for future events' said Major General Lafi in a speech opening the conference today. The 2nd annual Military Logistics Kuwait again welcomes the participation of senior officers and logistics experts from Kuwait and abroad including the US UK Belgium and NATO among others. The event once more hosts a cross section of General Officers involved with logistics from Kuwait NATO and international forces who come together to discuss advancements in logistics operations and the resulting challenges for militaries in the region. The objective is to develop promote and share best practices with like-minded professions engaged in material and logistics operations said Maj Gen. Lafi. The summit serves as an ideal platform to showcase success stories and most importantly provide opportunities for collaboration and cooperation among world armies. In today's conference or summit UK experiences in logistics over the past ten year period were discussed in addition to understanding procurement challenges and learning how to ration operations to save costs and improve efficiencies. Also discussed were solutions available to overcome logistics challenges and ways to offer support for training and development of logistics personnel to achieve future sustainability
