Qatar to Host 13th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice


(MENAFN- QNA) The government of the State of Qatar and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) signed here Monday an agreement for hosting the 13th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Qatar during the period from 12 to 19 April 2015 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

The agreement was signed for the Qatari side by HE Qatar's Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, while it was signed for the United Nations by UNODC Executive Director Yury Fedotov in the presence of HE Deputy Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for hosting the Conference Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al Hammadi.

The 13th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice is one of the largest international conferences held regularly every five years. More than 5,000 participants representing government official bodies in addition to civil society organizations are expected to participate in the conference.
