Obama renews US support to Tunisia


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Tunisian Interim Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa received on Monday, a letter from US President Barack Obama expressing US support to Tunisia's economy and security during its transition to toward democracy.

The letter was handed over to Jomaa by US Ambassador to Tunisia Jacob Walles, Tunisian Agency Press (TAP) reported, citing a statement by the Premier's office.

Obama reaffirmed the US commitment to supporting Tunisia at both security and economic levels and willingness to continue backing efforts to boost the process of transition to ensure its optimal success.

The message is in response to Jomaa's message to Obama which the Minister of Foreign Affairs had conveyed to the US President during his visit to Washington, statement added.
