Dewa, Solar park sign USD68.05m deal for substation


(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) announced it has awarded USD68.05 million contract to build a new 400 kV substation for the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, Emirates 24/7 reported.

The Independent Power Producer (IPP) project will generate 100MW starting from April-June period of 2017 and will support the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy to diversify the energy mix by 2030.

Dewa is currently working on enhancing the efficiency of its network to meet the increasing demand for its services and establishes pivotal projects to achieve the highest standards in efficiency and reliability.

"Dewa contributes to enhancing Dubai's infrastructure and service utilities according to the highest international criteria to meet the basic needs and keep pace with the sustainable development of Dubai," Dewa's CEO said.
