Saudi- Defeat forces of darkness: Crown Prince Salman


(MENAFN- Arab News) Saudi Arabia is heading for a new renaissance thanks to the structural reforms witnessed by many vital sectors said Crown Prince Salman deputy premier and minister of defense on Monday.

'We will all yield the fruits of this renaissance shortly' the crown prince told citizens in a statement on the occasion of the 84th National Day which marks the Kingdom's unification by King Abdul Aziz.

'We believe in the future of our country and its strength. We move with determination and insistence that defeat the bets of others. We are proud of having the honor of serving Islam and Muslims all over the world' he said.

Prince Salman said Saudi Arabia would stand by the truth. 'We neither appease nor maneuver in our policies toward others. We always stand by right even if it angers some. Our position is honest in word and in deed.'

The crown prince commended Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for leading the Kingdom to greater progress and prosperity. 'He led the Kingdom through the path of construction and growth as a result of his farsighted vision' he added.

The crown prince said: 'Our goal is to be at the forefront because we believe in our potentials capabilities and position. We also believe more in our youth who have begun taking on the positions they deserve thanks to their seriousness and efficiency.'

Prince Salman continued: 'Today as Muslims we are concerned because we have not done enough to protect our nation from extremism and its youths from militancy and extremism leading some to adopt violence and replace the doctrine of tolerance with the doctrine of 'takfir' (judging people as infidels) terrorism and bombing.'

He added: 'Our number one task today as officials and citizens is to join hands in delivering the true image of Islam which has been tarnished by dark forces and show our great religion with its ethics knowledge and work in the face of deviant thoughts and interpretations.'

In a similar statement Deputy Crown Prince Muqrin said Saudi Arabia is founded on strong pillars that cannot be shaken by changes of time and would gain strength with the passage of generations. 'We are proud of our historical heritage and will preserve it for generations to come' Prince Muqrin said while highlighting the Kingdom's tremendous progress in different sectors.
