GCC Ministerial Council Expresses Regret at Recent Events in Yemen


(MENAFN- QNA) The Ministerial Council for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf expressed deep regret and concern at recent events in the Republic of Yemen during a meeting held in New York.

In a statement , the Council welcomed the agreement which was reached yesterday evening, hoping that it will lead to an end to violence and enhance the security and stability of Yemen.

The Council also expressed hope that Yemen overcomes this critical stage of its history.

The Ministerial Council affirmed its standing with Yemen and its support for the Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi and his efforts in maintaining the legitimacy.

The Ministerial Council also called on all parties to place national interest first and adhere to a political approach to regain stability and unity of Yemen. The council also called on the parties involved to work together on completing the implementation of the outputs of the national dialogue as well as to promote the political process that has made Yemen a model to resolve differences peacefully.
