Google to revise offer to settle EU antitrust probe

(MENAFN) According to EU Commissioner, Google is working on a revised offer to settle a four-year EU antitrust probe after opposition from rivals disrupted an earlier deal, Times of Oman reported.

Google might still receive a formal EU complaint, known as a statement of objections, if the company and regulators can't reach an agreement on a revised settlement.

EU Commissioner started a probe in earlier 2010 into allegations that US search giant Google discriminates against rivals that offer competing services in search results.

"I have now asked Google to improve the last commitments that were put forward at the end of January," he said, adding "They are working on this. I have not yet received their response."
