Kuwait looking forward to Mexican President's visit - FM


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said Sunday he discussed with Mexican Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Maade Kuribrena the preparations for President Enrique Pena Nieto's visit to Kuwait.

The meeting was to prepare for the President's visit, due in mid-December, at the invitation of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled told KUNA.

He added there were cooperation agreements that needed to be prepared before the visit.

He said Kuribrena's visit to Kuwait last March was aimed at preparing for the president's visit.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, describing the relations with Mexico as "important," said Kuwait was keen on reaching out to countries in Latin America through Mexico.

He meanwhile said that he and Kuribrena discussed issues listed on the agenda of UN General Assembly's (UNGA) 69th session and the climate change summit.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled said Kuwait was keen on Mexico's involvement in the region, like having a role in the Palestinian cause.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled is accompanying His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, who is representing His Highness the Amir to the UNGA session and climate change summit.
