Tunisian Presidential Candidates Rise to 24


(MENAFN- QNA) The number of Presidential candidates running for the Tunisian presidential elections has risen to 24, two days ahead of the deadline for accepting nominations.

The two front runners are current interim president Mohammed Al Mouncef Al Marzouki and President of the Constituent Assembly Mostafa bin Jafar. Both said they will continue in their posts during the elections.

Tunisia will hold its first Presidential elections following their revolution on November 23. The Tunisian news agency reported today that Beji Caid el Sebsi, who was Prime Minister after the revolution and was the country Minister of Foreign Affairs in the 80s, will also run for President.
