51 Taliban Militants Killed in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- QNA) The Afghan ministry of interior said Sunday that 51 Taliban militants were killed following joint military operations by Afghan national security forces.

A statement released by interior ministry said Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).

The statement further added that the operations were conducted in the past 24 hours in Kandahar, Zabul, Logar, Ghazni and Helmand provinces.

At last 32 Taliban militants were wounded and five others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces, according to the statement.

Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds ammunition during the operations.

Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.
