(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Foundation's Annual Research Conference (ARC), this year aims to address Qatar's research challenges and critical issues as well as the social challenges and opportunities in Qatar and the region.
The conference, being held under the patronage of H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, announced it is advancing on its journey towards research excellence at ARC'14, on November 18 and 19.
Following the success of last year's conference, ARC'14 will offer attendees from around the world thought-provoking panel discussions, technical presentations, and high-powered debates where leading experts will share constructive experiences and innovative approaches on the theme, 'Towards World-Class Researchand Innovation.'
The November conference aims to address Qatar's research grand challenges and critical issues such as the country's cyber and water security, solar and renewable energy solutions, health management systems, as well as the social challenges and opportunities in Qatar and the region. Qatar Foundation Research and Development (QF R&D), one of the main pillars of Qatar Foundation, is leading Qatar's science and research efforts in these fields.
Announcing ARC'14, Dr Nabeel Al Salem (pictured), Executive Director of Outreach and Communications at Qatar Foundation Research and Development (QF R&D), said: "Since its inception in 2010, ARC has grown as a platform for discussing Qatar's ambitious research agenda to propel the country towards a diversified economy and the realisation of Qatar National Vision 2030.
"ARC'14 offers a unique opportunity for local, regional and international experts to come together to recognize local research excellence, as well as activate multidisciplinary knowledge sharing and collaboration to tackle pressing national and international challenges in research."
ARC'14 will feature various sessions related to the four thematic pillars defined in Qatar's National ResearchStrategy (QNRS) - Energy and Environment, Computing and Information Technology, Health, and Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.
