(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha September 17 (QNA) - HE Director General of Public Security of Interior Ministry Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi on Wednesday expressed regret over the statement issued by the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain describing it as it lacks the precision and accuracy and contrary to what has been agreed upon between the GCC countries . HE Major General Al Khulaifi stressed that the statement is surprising and unreasonable stressing that it is impossible that the State of Qatar would tempt Bahrain nationals to have Qatari citizenship. He said Qatar is committed to the application of its laws regarding those of Qatari origin similar to those followed by all GCC states in this regard. He said its surprising that the statement was issued despite the challenges facing the region which requires a unified stand in order to confront them and maintain security and stability of all Gulf peoples . HE Al Khualiafi affirmed Qatar's keenness on brotherly ties with the Kingdom of Bahrain which he said is distancing the State of Qatar from responding similarly to the content of the statement. He explained that the State of Qatar will always remain committed to the values of brotherhood with brethren in the Kingdom of Bahrain and will continue to help the Gulf Cooperation Council particularly the Kingdom of Bahrain which its stability is a stability of the State of Qatar he said.(QNA)
