(MENAFNEditorial) The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is set to showcase its portfolio of projects this coming week with its participation in the 2014 edition of Cityscape Global, which is taking place from 21-23 September at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Shurooq, who continues to act as one of the major drivers in the emirate of Sharjah's growth, will be making use of the opportunity to showcase its diverse range of mixed-use master planned development projects as well as to leverage the excellent investor networking platform that this premier international event offers.

Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, COO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), remarked, "Sharjah has quickly established itself as a major investment hub in the region and, at Shurooq, we are committed to fostering the sustainability of the Emirate's growth, both through aggressively promoting its investment potential and through the development of large scale projects that attract investment and stimulate the local economy. Cityscape Global offers us and ideal opportunity to make the regional and international investment community aware of these projects and to network and forge partnerships with the most esteemed members of the real estate industry. We are looking forward to what will, undoubtedly and once again, be a very productive Cityscape Global this year."

Shurooq's participation will showcase a number of the Authority's premier development projects, including Al Jabal Resort - The Chedi Khorfakkan, Sir Bu Nuair Island, the Heart of Sharjah, Al Bait Hotel, the Kalba Eco-tourism project.

Shurooq's COO went on to emphasise that each of Shurooq's varied range of projects have been planned with the aim of making the maximum possible positive impact on their immediate environments as well the emirate of Sharjah and the UAE in general. "We take great care to ensure that matters such as sustainability and the ecological impact of each development are taken into consideration. Furthermore, each project is designed to allow for collaboration between local and international concerns. Our aim is that both the people of Sharjah and all the parties involved in the planning, design, execution, and management of these projects will benefit from their success," Al Qaseer added.

Shurooq was established in 2009 with the aim of achieving social, cultural, environmental and economic development on the basis of Sharjah's distinct Arab and Islamic identity, and to encourage investment by adopting the best international standards in providing quality services that help attract investors from the region and the world.

Shurooq's key mission is to provide facilities and incentives to help overcome obstacles facing investment activities in the Emirate, evaluate investment-related infrastructure projects, and lay down the necessary plans to complete such projects.
