Oman Sail's public event in Sohar this weekend

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The first of Oman Sail's three public beach sailing events this year will be held at Silver Jubilee Park in Sohar on Friday and Saturday.

The event in Sohar will be followed by one in Muscat (October 17 and 18) and in Sur (November 14 and 15).

The Sohar event will take place from 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5.30pm.

A press release stated that crowds of water sports enthusiasts can try their hands at sailing or just have fun riding a banana boat. Since Oman Sail first launched Public Beach Sailing Events in 2012 the popularity of these events has increased. 'The event is set to be another crowd pleaser as families gear up to get on board the Hobie 16s and dinghies to get a flavour of why sailing has become Oman's fastest growing sport.'

The release added that making sports accessible and allowing people to integrate them as part of a healthy lifestyle are the aim of these events. 'Children will also have their own activities in the shape of an educational art zone and a bouncy castle.'
