Kuwait- Ambassador denies report on withdrawing investment from Turkey

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait's ambassador in Ankara Abdullah Al-Thuwaikh on Wednesday rejected as baseless a Turkish press report attributing to him a statement on withdrawing Kuwaiti investments from the country in case the authorities insist on deporting a diplomat involved in a traffic incident.

What has been circulated by the media is baseless, Al-Thuwaikh told KUNA by phone.

He stressed that he made no statements related to Kuwaiti investments in Turkey, saying they have nothing to do with the incident.

"Investigations are underway by the relevant authorities regarding the traffic incident and we trust the Turkish judiciary," Al-Thuwaikh said.

He also highlighted the "deep-rooted bilateral ties and fruitful cooperation in all fields", as well as encouraging the public and the private sectors to take advantage of the investment opportunities in Turkey, based on the close relations established and supported by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Turkish officials.
