Kuwait- MoH lauds medical, scientific development in Iran


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait's Minister of Health Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi met Wednesday with Iran's Health Minister Syed Hasan Hashemi to get acquainted with current medical and scientific development in the Islamic Republic.

Al-Obaidi stated that his discussions with Hashemi dealt with various subjects of joint interest, praising the scientific level he saw while visiting a number of health facilities here. The Minister pointed out that organs transplant, medicines manufacturing, and medical research centers in the country provide highly promising cooperation between Kuwait and Iran.

"After we return to Kuwait, we will form a joint committee to prepare a memorandum of understanding for medical cooperation and exchange of expertise in this field," said Al-Obaidi.

Earlier, the Kuwaiti Minister and his accompanying delegation visited a medical and health products fair here where they got acquainted with Iranian pharmaceutical companies and their products.

The meeting was attended by Kuwait's Ambassador to Iran Majdi Al-Dhafiri and members of Al-Obaidi's accompanying delegation.

The delegation includes the Health Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Dr. Mahmoud Abdulhadi, Director of Public Relations and Media Faisal Al-Dosari, Al-Sabah Hospital Director Dr. Abbas Ramadan, Head of the Center of Plastic Surgery and Burns Dr. Qutaiba Al-Kanderi, and the Minister's Office Director Abdulaziz Al-Risheedi.
