(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Tunisian Interim Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa said Wednesday he will not run for the upcoming presidential elections in keeping with an undertaking he gave during the National Dialogue meetings in the past.
In a televised speech Jomaa noted that he had made the decision during his appointment as Prime Minister after marathon meetings of the National Dialogue.
Jomaa said his decision was not the result of any pressure, adding that the greatest challenge for his government is to ensure the ultimate success of the transitional process and organize fair and transparent elections allowing the establishment of permanent state institutions.
