Japan records trade deficit for 26 months


(MENAFN) According to the Japanese Ministry of Finance, the country registered a trade deficit last month, Xinhua reported.

The world's thirst largest economy recorded a trade deficit of USD8.74 billion, marking the 26th consecutive month in the red, the ministry said.

On a customs-cleared basis, exports of the world's third largest economy fell 1.3 percent from a year earlier, while imports decreased 1.5 percent.
