Rheumatic fever can affect your heart and kidney
(MENAFN- Arab News) Q: I am 16 and I have tonsillitis. My elder brother also had this problem but he is now free from it. My parents think that I should follow the same path and get them removed. It happens 10 times in a year. Please advise whether I should have my tonsils removed now or after they are fully mature M.A. Jubail
A: You are already a mature person since you are 16. If the problem of tonsillitis is recurring 10 times a year then you should have your tonsils removed. Otherwise the bacteria which is causing the infection may develop into rheumatic fever. This condition can affect your heart kidney and bones leading to permanent damage to those organs. You should see an ENT consultant and follow his advice.
Q: We were blessed with a baby recently. My wife is having some problems; her breasts have become hard and our baby is unable to feed. Please advise. M. Asif
A: Buy a breast pump and extract milk. Feed the baby with the breast milk through a feeder. It is important that the baby should not be deprived of mother's milk.
Q: I am suffering from a skin rash between my legs. It is irritating and my skin has turned red. It is spreading. What is your advice A.A.R.
A: Are the rashes between your thighs or legs If the rashes are between your thighs it must be fungal infection. You can use a cream called Elica-M twice a day for six days. It would be advisable if you see a dermatology consultant.
