(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Film buffs across the country have an exciting array of screenings coming their way.
The Italian Embassy and the European Delegation to the UAE are set to host the first edition of European Film Screenings from September 17 to 24 at Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi and September 19 to 25 at Mercato Mall in Dubai.
The event which will open in both cities with the Italian 2014 Oscar winner La Grande Bellezza (pictured) directed by Paolo Sorrentino will feature a carefully curated rich ensemble of the most recent and successful independent films from Europe.
From the Dutch film Soof and Walesa – Man of Hope to the engaging Swedish child tale The Ice Dragon and Spanish comedy Carmina or Blow-up the showcase will be the perfect way for audiences to enjoy the award-winning films.
UAE film directors Nayla Al Khaja Ali Mostafa Mohammed Al Otaiba Ahmed Zain and others will also be showcasing their talents at the event. Every screening day will feature a tribute to the local film industry through a selection of regionally acclaimed Emirati short films done in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi International Film Festival.
