Palestinian Gov't affirms strong ties with Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Palestinian Government on Tuesday welcomed the recent visit by First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to Ramallah, describing the visit as "important." In a statement, the Government affirmed strong relations and cooperation between Kuwait and Palestine on the levels of leadership and people.

It also praised the unwavering stand by Kuwait in support of the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, noting that such visit by Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled constitute a message of support and solidarity with the Palestinian leadership and people, expressing at the same time deep appreciation for the continued support of Kuwait to the Palestinian people and their just cause.

The statement also called on Arab leaders to intensify their visits to Palestine because it would send a strong and active indication of support for the Palestinian position.

In the past two days, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled concluded a historic visit to Palestine, in which he discussed ways to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries, as well as signing an agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding.
