Oman's oil production declines


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman's crude oil and condensates production in August 2014 amounted to 29.56mn barrels averaging 953446 barrels a day (bpd) - down 0.35 per cent from a month earlier. 

The monthly report by the Ministry of Oil and Gas added that total crude oil exports stood at 24.83mn to average 800878 bpd. Exports were down 11.47 per cent on a daily average basis.

The Asian markets as usual accounted for the biggest share of exports. China continued to top the list of Omani crude oil importers in August with a 65 per cent share. Sri Lanka and New Zealand resumed Omani crude oil imports.

The average price of Omani crude for October 2014 delivery amounted to US$102.23 per barrel a decline by US$4.01 from the September contract.

The Oman Crude Oil Future Contract on the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME Oman) witnessed a decline in price in August as has been the case with other crude oils. It ranged between US$104.72 and US$100.59 per barrel.
