China to build new airport in Qinghai Province


(MENAFN) Local Chinese sources reported the establishment of a new civil airport which will be located in the Chinese northwest Qinghai Province, Xinhua reported.

Total investment in the under-construction airport reached some USD114 million, the Qinghai Airport Company said in a statement.

The Huatugou civil aviation airport will cover an area of 180 hectare and will have 3,600 meters of runway, with its terminal covering an area of 3,000 square meters.

The airport is expected to support local development and improve the aviation network on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, as the site is suitable in the border region of Qinghai and Xinjiang.
