Singapore's unemployment rate low, stable in H1
(MENAFN) According to Singapore's Ministry of Manpower, the unemployment rate in the country remained low yet stable in the first half amid the tight labor market, Xinhua reported.
The unemployment rate in the January-June period of 2014 was at 2.9 percent, while the resident long-term unemployment rate remained among the lowest globally at 0.6 percent.
Foreign employment growth continued to contract in the first half, with a lower annual total employment growth at 3.8 percent in June, compared to 4.2 percent a year earlier.
