Dubai — The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed phase II of the Jumeirah Corniche Development project spanning 2.5km. The beach side which is due to open for the public soon will extend to 4.5km after the development project.

Accordingly the completion rate has shot up to 77 per cent in the project which is expected to fully open next October.

Maitha bint Udai CEO of RTA Traffic and Roads Agency said: “The newly completed sector of the Corniche will be open for the public as of the third week of this month. Walking and jogging enthusiasts are invited to practice and enjoy their hobbies at the Corniche particularly as walking is growing into a good healthy practice amongst all community members.”

“The Jumeirah Corniche Development project extends about 7km and the project encompasses a 5-metre wide walk 4-metre wide jogging track and rest areas including retail kiosks shaded benches overlooking the beach as well as public and health amenities. The project is characterised by a unique touch of beauty featuring gorgeous landscaping and flooring works which are distributed in highly coordinated style in addition to decorative lighting in a stylish and innovative manner.

The project will turn the sand beach into a vibrant venue fitted with abundant public utilities for beachgoers amongst residents and tourists heading to the beaches of Dubai to savour a fine seaside sitting or practicing jogging or walking sports.
