Qatar- Saad Sherida Al Kaabi is QP's managing director


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Engineer Saad Sherida Al Kaabi (pictured) was appointed as Qatar Petroleum's Managing Director at the new Board of Directors first meeting held yesterday at QP headquarters.

The meeting was chaired by H E Dr Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry, and held in the presence of Vice Chairman,

H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, the Minister of Economy and Commerce, and the Board Members H E Ali Sheriff Al Emadi, the Minister of Finance, Dr Ibrahim Al Ibrahim, Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, Nasser Khalil Al Jaidah, and Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Board Member and Managing Director. The Board reviewed the meeting agenda and took the necessary decisions.

Al Kaabi joined QP in 1986 as a student studying petroleum and natural gas engineering at Pennsylvania State University in the USA. In 1991, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering and joined QP's Reservoir & Field Development Department. He then became the Manager of Gas Development responsible for North Field management and development, where he and his team played a key role in the rapid launch of many mega gas projects based on the most up-to-date technologies, which were implemented in record time, making a major contribution towards Qatar's rapid rise to becoming the LNG and GTL capital of the world; as well as several large gas pipeline projects domestically and for export.

From 2006 until this appointment, Al Kaabi was the Director of QP's Oil & Gas Ventures Directorate.
