Malaysia's natural rubber exports up 0.4 percent


(MENAFN) According to the Malaysian Statistics Department, the country's natural rubber exports inched up 0.4 percent in July to 51,772 tons over a month ago, QNA reported.

Natural rubber imports in July 2014 rose by 13.6 percent to 82,578 tons compared to June 2014, while compared with July 2013, imports fell by 8.6 percent to 90,350 tons.

NR was exported mainly to China (34.4 percent), followed by Germany (16.7 percent), the US (5.4 percent), Brazil (4.3 percent), Iran (7.6 percent) and Finland (2.3 percent).

Total NR for domestic consumption in July improved by 6.5 percent to 36,352 tons, with the rubber gloves industry being the largest consuming sector at 74.3 percent.
