Bahraini IDC, Fuji sign a deal for Dilmunia project


(MENAFN) Ithmaar Development Company (IDC) announced that it awarded Fuji Electric, the global energy solutions provider, with the contract of supplying and the installation of the primary substation serving the landmark Dilmunia at Bahrain Health Island, Gulf Daily News reported.

The 66 kilovolt substation is expected to deliver electricity to roughly 40 percent of the ambitious 125-hectare, USD1.6 billion worth man-made island.

IDC also announced that it awarded the Bahrain-based contractor Cebarco the civil works contract concerning the project, which has started work on the site which will accommodate the substation.

Meanwhile, IDC said that the energizing of the primary substation will take place in the January-March period of 2015, in time for the completion of the Seavilla development, into which Dilmunia's first residents will move in during the third quarter of 2015.
