Nigerian Army Repulses Boko Haram Attack in N. Nigeria


(MENAFN- QNA) Nigeria’s army has repulsed an attack by Boko Haram militants near Maiduguri city in northern Nigeria.

Spokesman of the Nigerian Army Timothy Antigha said in a statement that after three hours of fierce fighting, government troops defeated a group of over 100 militants belonging to Boko Haram.

He explained that the attackers sustained heavy losses and noted that the Nigerian army confiscated four vehicles equipped with anti-aircraft guns, in addition to two Kalashnikov rifles and two Global Positioning Systems. The army is combing the area in search of wounded terrorists that manage to flee, the Spokesman said.
