(MENAFN- QNA) Tunisian army units carried out an operation in Al-Shaanbi and Samama mountains in Kasserine governorate, in the center-west of Tunisia.
Official Spokesman of the Tunisian Ministry of Defense Lt. Col. Belhassen Weslati said in a statement today that the operation, which was carried out yesterday evening, came as part of the fight against terrorism, adding that no army units had come under attack.
He denied reports about an attack on military barracks Kasserine, but gave no further details on the operation.
For his part, official Spokesman of the Tunisian Interior Ministry Mohamed Ali Laroui said in similar statement that, that the security situation in Kasserine, "is normal and stable."
