Kuwaiti FM on First Visit to Palestine


(MENAFN- QNA) Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah will start on Sunday an official one-day visit to Palestine at an invitation of his Palestinian counterpart Riyadh Al-Maliki.

During the visit, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah will meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and hand a written message from Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.

He is also scheduled to hold talks with his Palestinian counterpart on means of enhancing bilateral relations and coordination to continue to support the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people, ensure the restoration of all their rights, and to ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the principles and resolutions of international legitimacy.

The visit, the first of its kind for a Kuwaiti official since 1967, is expected to be a landmark in the history of the deep-rooted relations between the two Arab countries as it will see the launching of the joint higher commission, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
