Israel Releases Palestinian MP

(MENAFN- QNA) Israel has released Palestinian member of parliament Khalid Yahya Said, 56, from Meggido prison, a Palestinian human rights group said.

Ahrar Human Rights Center director Fouad al-Khafash said Said, a Hamas representative from Jenin, was detained during the Israeli crackdown across the West Bank in the wake of the disappearance of three Israeli teens over summer.

Al-Khafash said that 33 parliament members and two ministers are still being held in Israeli administrative detention without charge or trial.

More than 7,000 Palestinians are currently being held by Israel, including around 500 in administrative detention without charge or trial.
