(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) They claimed that the deaths occurred due to lack of oxygen supply as well as malfunctioning of ventilators in some cases.Eight infants died under mysterious circumstances at Vehari’s District Headquarter Hospital over a period of two days.
Four of the infants died on Monday and another four died early on Tuesday in what relatives claimed to be a case of negligence on part of hospital authorities.
They claimed that the deaths occurred due to lack of oxygen supply as well as malfunctioning of ventilators in some cases.
Meanwhile Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while taking notice of the tragedy has despatched provincial health minister Salman Rafiq to investigate the incident and meet relatives of the infants to listen to their version.
