Tokyo Stocks Fall on Wall St. losses, Japan's Weak Data

(MENAFN- QNA) Tokyo stocks fell Wednesday morning as overnight losses on Wall Street and Japan's weak core machinery orders data cooled market sentiment.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 55.82 points, or 0.35%, from Tuesday to 15,693.33, according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.10 point, or 0.01%, to 1,299.52.

Stocks traded on a weak tone from the opening on the heels of a decline in U.S. stocks on Tuesday.
