Japan's Core Machinery Orders up 3.5% in July

(MENAFN- QNA) Japan's core private-sector machinery orders rose a seasonally adjusted 3.5% from a month earlier in July to 771.7 billion yen, on the back of a one-off increase in big orders from the chemical industry, the government said Wednesday.

The orders, excluding those for ships and from utilities because of their volatility, climbed further following an 8.8% rise in the previous month, but the pace of recovery slowed given that they plunged a record 19.5% in May and 9.1% in April.
