Iraqi Army Begins Extensive Operation to Liberate Dhuluiya in Tikrit


(MENAFN- QNA) An Iraqi security source said that the army forces supported by the popular Mobilization and clan fighters began on Wednesday an extensive military operation to liberate the city of Dhuluiya and its neighboring areas from the control of the Islamic State organization.

The source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA ) that The force began an extensive military operation to free the areas dominated by the Islamic State north and east of Dhuluiya, indicating that the process has backed by the army aviation.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense announced the killing of two princes of the Islamic State in the Dujail district in Salahuddin province.

The Ministry of Defense also announced the killing of more than 40 terrorists, including the most prominent aide to Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi west of Mosul.

The ministry said in a press release that the air force in coordination with military intelligence, were able to kill more than 40 terrorists in Baaj, west of Mosul, including the most prominent aide to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (Abdullah Ali , called Abu Bakr Alkhatuna").

The Army Aviation also killed 9 terrorists and destroyed 4 vehicles carrying machine guns in Dhuluiya south of Tikrit.
