Kuwait- His Highness PM congratulates His Highness Amir on UN honouring


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on his honouring as a 'humanitarian leader' at the UN on Tuesday.

On behalf of himself and the Cabinet, His Highness the Prime Minister said he was "pleased to express my profound pride on this honouring, which comes to award Your Highness' legacy in the field of humanitarian and charitable work." The honouring of Kuwait "embodies a history glittered with humanitarian generosity through development projects and humanitarian assistance" to all nations of the world.

This reflects the "civilised image" and dedication to humanitarian endeavours and good deeds Kuwait and its people have been known for, he said.

His Highness the Prime Minister delivered the comments after His Highness the Amir received an accolade for his humanitarian efforts, which included Kuwait's designation as a 'humanitarian centre', in New York.

In response to the warm sentiments, His Highness the Amir said that he had received with "full appreciation" the message of congratulations on the ocassion.

"We value highly the expressions of warmth and honest sentiments on this ocassion.

"At the same time, we ensure that this honouring from the United Nations of our dear nation is a a cause for pride of our dear nation and our loyal people, who are known for their love of carrying out good deeds, generosity and giving.

It has also been gained "in appreciation of the noble role the State of Kuwait is assuming in the field of humanitarian and relief work and its response to distress calls in rescuing those affected by hazards and in supporting those in need," he concluded.
