Spanish housing prices up 0.8 percent in Q2

(MENAFN) According to data by the Spanish National Institute of Statistics (INE), housing prices in the country increased 0.8 percent in the April-June period, Xinhua reported.

The second-quarter increase marked a first in Spain as the prices started falling in the first quarter of 2008 when the financial crisis caused a big fall in housing prices.

According to the INE, prices of used houses increased by 0.2 percent in the second quarter, while prices of new houses increased by 1.9 percent in the second quarter on-year.

Meanwhile, prices of new houses increased slightly by 0.6 percent compared to the first quarter, while prices of used houses increased by 1.9 percent, INE figures showed.
