Iraqi Dhi Qar to invest USD430m in projects

(MENAFN) Iraq's southern Dhi Qar is planning to invest USD430 million in power projects in the next three years for the purpose of adding 2.000 MW to its generation capacity, Emirates 24/7 reported.

The projects are very important to deal with severe power shortage in the area due to overloading and due to some networks becoming old.

The projects are expected to add a total 2.000 MW to lift the governorate's existing power generation capacity to nearly 3.000 MW.

Other projects include building a power plant north of the province's capital Nasiriyah with a capacity of 1.000 MW as well as another 1.000-MW plant, which will be constructed in Suq Al Shuyukh in south Dhi Qar.
