(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman and Poland on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of science and higher education.
The agreement was signed by H E Dr Rawiyah bint Saud al Busaidiyah Minister of Higher Education and Dr Lena Kolarska-Bobinska Minister of Science and Higher Education of Poland.
As part of the agreement there will be exchange visits by faculty researchers and students and joint research projects between institutions of the two countries.
A joint working committee that will ensure implementation of the MoU will meet in Oman and Poland on a rotational basis.
During the meeting held with the Polish delegation H E Dr Rawiyah stressed on common areas of cooperation in higher education research and technology.
A powerpoint presentation on higher education in Oman highlighted several issues including the Council of Education and its terms of reference role of the Ministry of Higher Education the Higher Education Admission Centre private education admission criteria the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority and the Oman Quality Assurance Network.
H E Dr Rawiyah briefed the Polish delegation on the Oman University project the Education Law and Education Strategy (2040) Science and Technology City and the Graduate Survey. The visiting side gave a presentation on the higher education institutions in Poland.
