Former French International Excited about World Cup 2022 in Qatar


(MENAFN- QNA) Former French international and Euro 2000 winner said Tuesday that holding World Cup 2022 in Qatar will be a golden opportunity for a noticeable advancement in football technology.

Trezeguet, who famously scored France's golden goal against Italy in the final to win the Euro 2000, said in a statement published on website of the Supreme Committee for Legacy and Delivery that "The cooling systems (to be incorporated for stadia in World Cup 2022) will be a new technology to discover and it will show technological advances to the world, something which will be very good for players." The striker, who was in France's World Cup winning squad in 1998, stressed on the importance of developing football in different parts of the world. He added that it will be a unique experience to hold the World Cup for the first time ever in an Arab country. Trezeguet expressed his confidence the the World Cup in Qatar will be well-organized, especially because "Qatar will have short distances between venues so it will be beneficial to all people who come to visit."
