Saudi- Cops honored for cracking Riyadh double murder case
(MENAFN- Arab News) Riyadh police honored a team of nine of its officers for apprehending the killer of an Indian woman and her son. Police were able to identify the killer nine hours after he committed the double murder which he tried to camouflage by setting their house in the Shemaisi district on fire. The incident took place last week.
The suspect confessed that he killed his wife after she discovered that he was having an affair with one of his relatives who was living with them. The criminal investigation team found the bodies of the mother and her son and concluded that they had been killed. In recognition of their services the nine officers were given awards by the deputy chief of Riyadh police Maj. Gen. Sulaiman Al-Sudais. The awards were presented in the presence of a large number of officials and the media.
The recipients of the awards thanked Minister of Interior Prince Mohammad bin Naif Riyadh Gov. Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and the police for recognizing their services to the government.
According to a police official the rewards were given as part of a national policy that promotes such incentives to encourage security officers in recognition of their outstanding services.
