Saudi- New strategy worked out to nab illegals
(MENAFN- Arab News) The Labor Ministry in coordination with the Public Security Directorate decided recently to intensify its efforts to apprehend illegal workers who are still evading the long arm of the law.
The decision was made at a joint forum co-chaired by Gen. Othman Al-Mohrej director of Public Security and Moufarrej bin Saad Al-Haqbani deputy minister of labor.
The meeting which was attended by a number of security officials as well as officials from the Ministry of Labor focused on the implementation of a joint program of the two parties to nab violators of labor regulations.
The Ministry of Interior had earlier advised all illegal expatriates in the Kingdom to correct their work and residency status following the end of the amnesty period on Nov. 1 2013 or leave the country.
During the discussions both parties decided to chalk out a strategy and form a joint team to identify the areas largely occupied by the illegal expatriates in the capital and plan future operations.
In his opening speech Al-Haqbani said that the program is being implemented according to the vision of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman deputy premier and minister of defense and supported by Labor Minister Adel Fakeih.
Al-Haqbani added that such a joint program would enable the government to carry out operations to arrest illegal residents in an effective manner.
Responding to Al-Haqbani's speech Al-Mohrej thanked the Ministry of Labor for its coordination efforts adding that areas of operations should be identified and followed by surprise raids.
'Illegal residents are mostly found in remote farms factories workshops and construction sites' he added.
