French PM in Tunisia for "Invest in Tunisia" conf.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) French Prime Minister Manuel Valls arrived in Tunis Sunday to participate in the "Invest in Tunisia, Start-up Democracy" conference, to be held tomorrow in Gammarth, a seaside resort north of the Tunisian capital, local media reported.

Upon his arrival at Tunis-Carthage international airport, the French Premier was received by Interim Tunisian Prime Minister Mahdi Jomaa, according to Tunisian News Agency (TAP).

Earlier, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius arrived in Tunis to participate in the international economic event.

Tunisia is to present 20 investment projects in several sectors, such as new technologies, renewable energies, industry, tourism, and trade during the conference.

Representatives of regional and international economic and financial organizations such as the World Bank (WB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the European Investment Bank (EIB) as well as several US, European, African, and GCC investors are to participate in the conference.
