Qatar 2015 World Championship preparations get thumbs up

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) As the IHF Super Globe kicked off in Doha yesterday, the participants of the event gave thumbs up to the tournament's officials and the newly-built Qatar Handball Association Complex.

The coaches and players taking part at the IHF Super globe were left impressed with the facilities at the Qatar Handball Association Complex, which is one of the four venues to host the Qatar 2015 Men's Handball World Championship.

The ongoing event in which eight club teams are taking part from different countries has been dubbed as the first test for the organisers for the Qatar 2015 to be held from January 15 to February 1.

In his initial assessment, Brazil's Diogo Hubner, a player from HC Taubate, the Pen American champions praised the hospitality and facilities at the event.

"The complex is amazing and we are enjoying the facilities and our stay here," Hubner told reporters.

"I will definitely like to come back here for the World Championship with my national team (Brazil). I hope it will be a great event."

Meanwhile, Ljubomir Vranjes, the coach of SG Flensburg Handewitt, winners of the EHF Champions League also praised the complex.

"We are pleased to be here, it's a very nice arena," Vranjes said.

However, the coach pointed out that the organisers will have to do more work ahead of Qatar 2015.

" I think the time scheduling needs to be fixed. But, still I'll say that there are more positives (in my assessment) and a little bit of negatives.
