Qatar- QNB becomes 'Prestige Partner' for Qatar 2015 worlds


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) In a landmark deal ahead of the Qatar 2015 Men's Handball World Championship, the Qatar 2015 Organising Committee has announced that Qatar National Bank (QNB) will be a Prestige Partner for the global event to be held in Doha early next year.

The agreement was signed by Dr Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Director General, Qatar 2015 Organising Committee and Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari, Acting Group Chief Executive Officer, QNB, at a press conference held on the first day of the IHF Super Globe, a major handball competition being hosted in Qatar this week, at the all-new Qatar Handball Association Complex yesterday.

As a Prestige Sponsor, QNB will provide essential support for the Men's Handball World Championship, which will engage the whole community and welcome teams and fans from around the world. The agreement will provide QNB with significant visibility including coverage on several key placements at the championship's venues, which will be featured in international broadcasts when the competition begins.

Dr. Thani Abdulrahman said: "We are working closely with Qatar's leading companies to ensure that Qatar 2015 is a landmark sports event for our nation and to ensure that every spectator enjoys a unique sporting experience. This partnership is the latest in a series of announcements by the Qatar 2015 Organising Committee, as the organisation works to partner with companies for the championship which will take place from 15 January until 1 February.

With the participation of 24 countries from all over the world, the biennial Men's Handball World Championship is the biggest and one of the most important international events in Olympic sport. Handball is one of the most dynamically developing Olympic sports and enjoys a continuously increasing fan base worldwide.
