Malaysia Economy Could See Boost after Export Growth, Minister Says


(MENAFN- QNA) The healthy growth in the electrical and electronics sector will help boost the Malaysia's economy, the country's Minister of International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed.

He said the sector exports grew by 13%\\ in the first half of 2014, a sharp rebound from -4% achieved in the corresponding period of 2013, according to the Malaysian Bernama News Agency.

Mustapa said the export figure was close to the projection of the Industrial Production Index of about 15 percent growth. The electrical and electronic sector is an important component of Malaysia's economy and contributes about 33% to the nation's total exports.
