Two Soldiers Martyred in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- QNA) At least two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed Sunday in the latest during clashes with armed militants, defense officials said Sunday.

The Afghan Defense ministry spokesman, Gen. Zahir Azimi, said today that the two soldiers were in the past 24 hours. He did not disclose further information regarding the exact location and circumstances of the incident which led to the death of two soldiers, according to the Afghan Khaama Press.

Azimi added that at least 16 militants were killed and 16 others were injured during the military operations in the past 24 hours. He said the operations were conducted in five different provinces and Afghan army soldiers also confiscated various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operations.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.
